EN: Puerto de Santiago is a coastal town belonging to the municipality of Santiago del Teide in the southwest of the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). It is 13 kilometers from the urban center of Santiago del Teide and reaches a maximum altitude of 25 meters above sea level.

Located on the coast, taking advantage of a small cove protected by a small breakwater gained from the sea by a wash, it was one of the most important natural refuges on the west coast of the island. In recent years it has become one of the most attractive tourist centers in Tenerife, closely related to the Los Gigantes Cliffs and the Arena beach.

It also has a small fishing port.

Situada en la costa, aprovechando una reducida cala protegida por un pequeño espigón ganado al mar por una colada, era uno de los refugios naturales más importantes de la costa oeste de la isla. En los últimos años se ha convertido en uno de los más atrayentes núcleos turísticos de Tenerife, muy relacionado con los Acantilados de Los Gigantes y la playa de la Arena.

También cuenta con un pequeño puerto pesquero.


GR: Puerto de Santiago (kürzer Puerto Santiago) gehört zur Gemeinde Santiago del Teide in der Provinz Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Der Ort liegt an der Westküste der Kanarischen Insel Teneriffa direkt am Atlantischen Ozean, etwa 10 Kilometer südlich vom Hauptort und etwa acht Kilometer nördlich von Playa San Juan entfernt.

Tourismus

Der Ortsteil hat in den letzten Jahren die Wandlung von einem Fischerdorf zu einem Tourismusgebiet vollzogen. Zahlreiche Neubauten für Ferienwohnungen und Hotelanlagen legen Zeugnis ab, wenngleich nach wie vor eine gewisse Authentizität bescheinigt werden kann, da es noch einen kleinen Fischerhafen gibt. Der Ort ist inzwischen fast vollständig mit den nördlich und südlich gelegenen Orten Los Gigantes und Playa de la Arena zu einem großen Touristenzentrum zusammengewachsen.
