Filipe Faísca was born in Mozambique in 1964. He currently lives and works in Lisbon. In 1989, she graduated in Fashion Design at IADE (Institute of Visual Arts and Marketing).
In 1991, he joined the Official Selection for Mediterranean Europes Young Creative Biennale, in Valencia, Spain, and presented his first collection at ModaLisboa.
Along with the development of studio collections, and his custom-made work in which wedding dresses and for national artists stand out, he has been dedicating himself to the creation and execution of wardrobes for theatre, opera, ballet and cinema, accessory lines, costumes and uniforms for various hotels, restaurants and nightclubs.
In 1993, he was Ana Salazar's assistant, and later opened his own Atelier.
From 1994-2006, she teaches costumes at Chapitô.
After an interregnum of 14 years, Filipe Faísca returns to the ModaLisboa catwalk in October 2006, where he starts to present his collections seasonally.
Distinguished in 2007 with the Golden Globe for best Portuguese fashion designer, from the same year to 2013 he created the windows of Hermès stores, in Lisbon and Algarve, and Fashion Clinic, in Lisbon and Porto.
In 2011 it develops a partnership with the Triumph lingerie brand, which lasts until February 2014.
In 2013 she carries out the spring/summer 2013 campaign of the Fashion Clinic and teaches in the fashion design course at ESAD, in Matosinhos.
In 2014 it starts expanding its brand with new points of sale in partnership with online and physical stores; in the same year, Christian Louboutin's support for his fashion shows returns and performs his first aftershow in collaboration with Absolut.
Also in 2014, the plastic artist Joana Vasconcelos created a piece expressly for the catwalk of the Callcenter collection, in which, simultaneously, Filipe Faísca launched a collaboration with the swimsuit brand Voke.
In 2015, he was once again distinguished with the Golden Globe for Best Portuguese Fashion Designer; in 2015, it associated with the Rui Osório de Castro Foundation to give life to the “Darling” collection, which featured drawings by children supported by the IPO.
It also participates in the Burilada exhibition, as part of the opening of Casa do Design in Matosinhos and in MUDE, in Lisbon, in the exhibition “How to pronounce design in Portuguese”.
In 2016, he completes 25 years of his career and starts collaborating with Montblanc and Wolford.
