As someone from the UK you always know the Algarve to be a place for golf and good beaches but it has such amazing rural scenes.

Come spend a couple of days with us in Monchique, nestled in the stunning mountains of the Algarve. With the highest viewpoint in the region, this region is the perfect getaway to relax after busy weeks of work.

Here’s a highlight of our small trip:

Day 1:

- Visited Miradouro da Fóia, the highest viewpoint in Monchique.
- Enjoyed an amazing lunch at A Teresinha, a traditional and rustic restaurant packed with flavor.
- Checked in at Hotel Villa Termal, a beautiful hotel that functions like a mini village nestled in a valley, perfect for a dog-friendly stay.

Day 2:

- Started our day with a spa morning at the hotel.
- Visited Fonte dos Amores (Lover’s Fountain), a small natural waterfall near the hotel.
- Experienced local food and drinks: savor a cheese and ham board accompanied by Hidromel and Medronho (local spirits).
- Took a scenic drive through Barragem da Odelouca (Reservoir Park).
- Grabbed a quick bite at Velochique, a local bike store that also serves food and drinks.
- Ended our day at the stunning Passadiço do Barranco do Demo (Boardwalk).
