Rail Traffic at Königswinter, North Rhine Westphalia, Germany - 15th March, 2016.
Königswinter is a city and summer resort in the Rhein-Sieg district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated on the right bank of the Rhine, opposite Bad Godesberg, at the foot of the Siebengebirge. To read more about Königswinter, click here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6nigswinter .
Königswinter has extensive railway connections. The town is bisected by a busy railway line, which carries a great deal of freight / cargo up and down the 'right' side of the River Rhine, as well as Cologne to Koblenz passenger services. Königswinter also has a tram line which takes light rail between Koblenz and Bad Honnef, and a historic rack railway, the 'Drachenfelsbahn', which travels up the Siebengebirge.
This film features views of all three railways in Königswinter, with numerous shots of intermodal freight trains, as well as container trains, covered car trains and passenger services. There are also some shots of Königswinter's resident station dancer! He's definitely worth looking out for!!
