First chapter of this project.
Portugal is a small nation. Even though, the North, and the South are very different as compared to Lisbon area. This little stripe of land represents the edge of the European continent, the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The waves travel for miles before crushing on these beaches, making surfing even more suggestive.
I've been dreaming of Algarve and its amazing beaches for months. I had to see with my own eyes those arch shaped rocks immersed in such a pristine water, the farmers working their lands, the desert roads lost in the countryside. I spent many hours traveling in my mind while playing my guitar, that's why I called the first track "Expectations". Unfortunately the weather wasn't ideal, and some troubles with my equipment (tripod, battery...), so that I couldn't film it the way I planned. What is missing is the amazing area of Tavira, which inspired the second track of this clip "Back to Tavira".
Il Portogallo è una terra di confine, "onde a terra se acaba e o mar começa". Cabo da Roca è il punto più occidentale di questo continente, mentre Cabo Sao Vicente è la sua estremità a Sud-Ovest. Un viaggio in questi luoghi significa trovarsi costantemente in bilico, con lo sguardo fisso al di la del limite. E il limite si sgretola, dissolto nel silenzio di una desolata stradina di campagna, nell'odore d'estate che credevi perduto per sempre, insieme a quei pezzi di vita rimasti sepolti sotto cento altre vite vissute a metà.
