Ola, this is Phil Travel. Welcome to Lagos, the largest city on the western Algarve, in southern Portugal, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The city of Lagos is reachable by road and trains. It is about 1 hr by driving from Faro Airport or 1 hr 40 mins by train from Faro. The small seaside resort city, boasts a historic old town, a modern marina, cultural attractions, many pristine beaches and beautiful seaside with sheer cliffs and rock formations. It is one of the popular tourist destinations in the Algarve region and southern Portugal. The city is characterized by its many narrow cobbled streets, whitewashed buildings, bustling markets, lively squares, etc. The city offers lively nightlife with many restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs.
Let’s take a boat tour from Lagos Marina up to Ponta da Piedade to see the sheer cliffs, hidden grottos, caves, etc. along the coast. Lagos Marina is a lovely modern marina, where you can find boat tour operators, and with some restaurants, cafes, shops and hotels nearby. The marina is situated on the north side of the city.
