Today we visit Tavira, a small riverside town in the Algarve. This is a beautiful, welcoming place, and it features an ancient Castle on top of a hill, as well as a very well-preserved Roman bridge, which for millennia has been the main crossing of the Gilão River.
There was a local market and several musical events on this day.
At the end of the walk, we caught a choral group singing "Grândola Vila Morena" by Tavira's main square. This was particularly fitting for an April video, since on April 25th 1974 this song was used as the cue to begin the Carnation Revolution, that liberated Portugal from its Fascist regime.
